We are now live with Phase 4 of the Electronic Prescription Service. You can read more about this on the NHS website. Benefits of electronic prescribing include:
If you do not wish, or are unable to use an online method of ordering, or perhaps the medication is not on your regular repeat list, then you will need to request in person or submit a written request by one of the following methods:
We are unable to accept telephone requests for repeat medications. This facility is reserved for housebound patients or those aged over 65
If you require your prescriptions to be posted back to you please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope and allow extra time for the post.
Please note that drugs which have not been set up for repeat which were given for a single episode of illness or which need review cannot be supplied in this way. You will need to request it and you may be asked to make an appointment for review with a Clinician.
If you have forgotten to order in time and are going to run out, the Reception Team will ask the doctor to review the request. If the doctor agrees that missing the medication might cause harm, they will process it that day. However, otherwise they will be processed in the normal way.
You can register at St James Health Centre if you live within the following postcodes, L1, L2, L3, L8, L17 & L19. Please contact reception if you are unsure if you live within our area.
