St James Health Centre

Online services

There are several options for accessing GP services digitally. Some of the most popular choices are listed in below in the supported providers section, but others are available. The NHS app and Evergreen Life can both use the NHS login which you can set up from home without coming to the surgery, and can give you full access to your record. Other apps including Patient Access requires a linkage key which can only be obtained by coming in to surgery with photo' ID. Ask a member of staff for an "online access password", and then follow the printed instructions you are given to register the service of your choice.

A linkage key can currently only be obtained in person from reception, and you must bring photographic identification before we can give one to you.

If you're not registered as a patient, you can find out more information about how to register by clicking the link below.

Patient Choice

Everything we offer at St James Health Centre is designed to provide you the patient with choice. Online is no different, we don't want to restrict your choice, by aligning with a single system. As we become more digitally capable as an organisation, we will grow the number of apps, platforms and systems that our practice can work with. For example if you have a preferred app for managing your prescriptions, or booking appointments, we will support that decision.

What you can do online

    Talk to a doctor

Digital Front Door lets you consult with your GP online by completing a quick form that is sent and reviewed by the practice. Digital Front Door can also direct the patient to self-help, pharmacy advice and local self-referral services.

We support a variety of platforms that help you make an appointment online.

    Renew a Prescription

If you have recurring prescriptions setup for online self-renewal, you can use your preferred app or website to send us a renewal request - we will review and if we approve it'll be automatically sent to your preferred pharmacy for collection.

    Register Online

The NHS app allows you to take a video selfie and take photographs of your ID so that you can register with our practice without leaving your home.

How to access online services

There's a couple of things you need to do before you can jump in with online services. These steps are in place to ensure your privacy is always respected. There are different options that you can take but they all lead to the same thing - you having the choice to interact with our practice digitally the way that you prefer.

If you're new to all this or not very tech-savvy, we would recommend trying to register online with the NHS app. There's nothing you can do wrong, so if you give it a try and decide it's not for you, there's other options available like coming into the practice.
